Founder

In 1954, Huldah with her husband and baby daughter, sailed from the US to Calcutta for a one-year mission commitment. That one year turned into 60 years, as Huldah founded Calcutta Mercy to provide the best care and services to the poor. Read more about Huldah’s journey here.

Bob McGurty

President

Bob and his wife, Twyla, have served in an international and missional context for over 30 years. He joined the Mercy Hospital Board in 2001 and became the President of Calcutta Mercy in 2019. Bob works relentlessly to cast vision and clarify direction for Calcutta Mercy as an organization, leading an international staff to make eternal impact.

Danielle Bala

Director of Public Relations

Danielle holds a degree in Public Relations and Journalism, and a Masters in Organizational Leadership.  In 2008, Danielle visited Calcutta Mercy in India for the first time. Her years of experience serving those in need worldwide has brought her to her current role as our Director of Public Relations.
